In the ICO Introduction Course, you will become familiar with ICO (the Interuniversity Center for Educational Research), ICO’s thematic themes groups, and research performed within ICO. One important aim of this course is to present your (preliminary) plan of your first study in your PhD trajectory. You will receive feedback on your plan from your peers, but you also get to know other PhD candidates who recently started their PhD project. In addition, the course offers opportunities to practice research skills such as reviewing a scientific article and participating in a review meeting. In this course, we will use differentiated instructional formats to accommodate the learning needs of PhD students with a research master and PhD students with other prior training. The course is offered in English. If all participants are Dutch-speaking, however, it may be decided to use Dutch for communication during face-to-face meetings.
