Description
This interactive workshop session introduces mobile serious games as situated, contextualized learning games. Example cases for mobile serious games for decision support training are introduced and discussed.Participants will get to know contextualization techniques used in modern mobile devices as well as application scenarios for decision support trainings. Modern devices and the multitude of sensors available to them are presented and discussed. Also, a notion of contextualization of learning activities within real world scenarios is discussed.Participants explore aspects of multi-user multi-role game design by describing and specifying possible decision support scenarios. The workshop does not require participants to have technical skills or programming know how. However, as an example platform for mobile serious games, an available toolkit (ARLearn, http://ou.nl/arlearn) is presented, which enables non-programmers to create context-aware mobile learning games.Period | 30 Apr 2014 |
