World heritage and arts education: towards a culture sensitive ESD Coordinators: International Network for Research in Arts Education and UNESCO World Heritage Centre Culture is an indispensable driver and enabler of sustainable development. This workshop will explore how World Heritage Education and Arts Education offer an effective and innovative approach to integrating key sustainable development issues into learning processes touching on, for example, cultural diversity, peace, sustainable urbanization and sustainable lifestyles and consumption. The workshop will gather good practices of learning spaces in the formal, non-formal and informal sectors and consider the key challenges in developing concrete, innovative and effective activities contributing to a culture-sensitive ESD. Finally, concrete action proposals for the years ahead will be presented as major outcomes of the workshop.
