Inside ELAS: podcast about AI-assisted literature reviews

Press/MediaPopular

Description

Inside ELAS is your chance to listen in to the community behind ASReview — the open-source project redefining how we approach evidence synthesis in science, policy, and beyond. Developed at Utrecht University, ASReview (Active Learning for Systematic Reviews) is an open-source software tool that leverages state-of-the-art active learning techniques to streamline the screening of large volumes of text — from scientific papers and policy reports to social media data. Designed to support both scholars and practitioners, ASReview enables more efficient, transparent, and systematic identification of relevant documents, helping to build comprehensive and reproducible reviews of complex topics. But ASReview is more than a tool. It’s a growing, interdisciplinary ecosystem of researchers, developers, information specialists, students, and former manual screening advocates, all working together to push the boundaries of what open, collaborative research can be. Each week, we go beyond the changelogs to hear from the researchers, developers, students, and librarians shaping the project and rethinking how we work together in open science. It’s not just about software: it’s about design decisions, community practices, research questions, and the voices that make it all possible! New episodes every Wednesday.
