Layman's description

Clinical psychology is the study of the psychological aspects of cognition, emotion and psychopathological conditions. Insight into the development of atypical human behavior and psychopathological disorders are the subject of the research agenda. The research focuses on psychological mechanisms involved in emotions and cognitions, distinguishing implicit and explicit strategies for behavior. Attention is paid to the description and the formation of theories as well as to the development of methods of treatment, diagnostics and prevention.

The research is organized around the research themes of attachment, sexuality and relationships, E-mental health, anxiety and mood, social exclusion, low-level cognition, and learning and training.

The Department of Clinical Psychology formulates its research goals within the Research Line Clinical Psychology (part of UHC program).
