Layman's description
The Faculty of Management conducts research within four departments, being the Department of Strategic Management, the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management, the Department of Accounting and Finance and the Department of Organisation.
Research in the field of management sciences takes place within the framework of the integrated research programme 'Learning and Innovation in Resilient Systems'. The main objective of this programme is to increase understanding of the innovative and learning capabilities of resilient systems, with a focus on:
- information and computing systems
- organisational and management systems and
- environmental systems.
To achieve this main goal, three subprogrammes have been formulated that focus on resilience, learning and innovation.
- The aim of the 'Resilience' subprogramme is to increase our understanding of the ability of systems to process and reorganise disruptions while they undergo changes so that they still retain the same function.
- The aim of the 'Learning' subprogramme is to improve our understanding of the learning of individuals and organisations.
- The aim of the 'Innovation' subprogramme is to increase our knowledge of how innovations are created, spread and influence the world, and the role that agency has in this.
