Abstract

In his article, Matthijs Bal introduces human dignity as an alternative paradigm for research in work and organizational psychology. In this response we partially join his plea. Human dignity provides an interesting and relevant paradigm for work and organizational psychology research. However, considering the dominance of the neoliberal paradigm in both organizational practice and society, we argue that integrating the two paradigms is the main challenge for work and organizational psychology research. In addition, we think that the human dignity paradigm provides new challenges with respect to theory development and research methods in work and organizational psychology.
