Abstract
ABSTRACT
The integration of robots into different aspects of daily life is changing how we work and live. With humans and robots, becoming partners capable of collaboration, we can create effective work – and living spaces. Modern technologies, such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), are needed to create immersive environments that can enhance this human-robot-collaboration (HRC). These immersive learning environments (ILEs) can improve the efficiency and effectiveness while creating a safe space. A crucial part of HRC is the collaboration aspect, which can be improved with Social Robots (SRs) that are designed to engage with humans on a social level, aiming to improve communication. In this review, we examine the cross-section of three research fields: SRs, HRC, and ILEs. From our in-depth exploration of this rapidly evolving cross-section, we developed an Analysis Framework and examined several aspects such as Modality, Interaction, Technology, Meta-Information, and Learning Outcome.
