Abstract
This article discusses the Belgian care trajectories for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Based on national reports and studies and international publications, suggestions for improvement have been made. The main suggestions are to better define the parameters used to evaluate the effects of these trajectories, to include the increase in empowerment of CKD patients in the trajectories and to investigate more the point of view and experiences of the patients regarding these care trajectories.
