Abstract
Dutch academic programmes in environment and sustainability train students to pursue a career as academic professional in the field. This field of work is not static but changes over time as a function of various factors, e.g. economy, societal changes and progressing insights. The last national survey mapping the professional field in environmental sciences dates back to 2006 (Visseren-Hamakers & Vermeulen, 2006). In preparation of the 2018 assessment of academic BSc and MSc programmes in environment and sustainability, the Interuniversity Committee Environmental Sciences decided to organize a national survey to map the professional field in environment and sustainability. The current report describes the setup and results of this survey.
