Abstract

Due to the use of data flow, privacy issues and data inconsistencies, the management of amounts of data is important within organizations. To measure Data Governance within organizations, a maturity model can be used. However, the available maturity models do not provide sufficient insight into the privacy aspect. During this research, the aim was to develop a maturity model for privacy as a subdomain of Data Governance. The Data Governance Privacy Maturity Model (hereafter: DGPMM) is validated in one case organization. The validation shows that most qualifications are relevant, but the relevance for a number of levels is still difficult to determine. This maturity model (DGPMM) can be used as a tool to map current maturity.
