Abstract

Business-to-Business (B2B) organizations, which are successful in digital transformation, have 8% more shareholder returns and achieve five times more revenue growth than the competition. These figures show the power of digital transformation in creating a future-proof organization. The aim of this research is to explore the degree of digital transformation of traditional B2B organizations, if there are any differences in the degree of digital transformation between different B2B organizations, and to identify the success factors for digital transformation by using the model of success factors (Gimpel et al., 2018) and the digital maturity model (Chan & Swatman, 2004 and Valdezde-Leon, 2016). The difference of results was so minimal that it was not easy to determine which success factors are critical to the digital transformation for the B2B organizations. Nevertheless, as an indication some critical success factors have been identified; Increasing the customer experience, Arranging the technological basis, Having good quality data and High management priority for digital transformation. Based on the research there are five recommendations for a successful digital transformation; (1) Priority of management for digital transformation, (2) Formulate a clear digital strategy, (3) Focus on the customer, (4) Invest in good employees, (5) Invest in good information technology.
