Abstract

The literature shows a gap on the process and content of assessing an IT Project Portfolio. The high failure rate of 55% in IT projects in many organizations is a cause for concern. The purpose of this research is to get answers to the question what process model can be designed that stakeholders within IT Project Portfolio Management find useful for assessing an ITPP? As a result of this research an improved process model with a set of health and risk factors has been created to be assessed by stakeholders from various perspectives. Further research is needed to protocol the crucial role of the moderator in the process and to connect the model to the maturity of an organization's IT.
