Strategic Flexibility as Mediating Variable on Big Data Analytics Driven AI capability and Business Value

Abstract

Big Data and AI are increasing in relevance in the current age. The question still remains on how organizations are able to extract value from using these technological advancements. This research will dive into this phenomenon to unpack the business potential. A way that BDA-AI is able to create business value is to enhance and develop existing dynamic capabilities, such as strategic flexibility. Data was collected from 102 surveys that were conducted in The Netherlands in the professional network of three master students and young professionals. This research has shown that BDA-AI has a positive impact on strategic flexibility, strategic flexibility on business and that strategic flexibility fully mediates the relationship between BDA-AI and business value.
