Abstract

Business process modeling is a fundamental tool for business process improvement and analysis. Modeling guidelines ensure that models are designed to be understandable and correct. They allow for an easier understanding of the modeled process and its results.
This research paper explores the connection between modeling goals and guidelines to help better understand business process models. A methodology is proposed for a research study on business process modeling, based on semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis. This would provide an in-depth analysis of the goals, principles, and guidelines that are used in the modeling process.
In conclusion, the importance of business process modeling guidelines cannot be overstated. They provide a framework for designing accurate models that are easy to understand. In addition, understanding the connection between modeling goals and guidelines can help to improve the quality of business process models. There is definitely a link between the two that can be further investigated in new research papers.
